Overview

SMART is a bilingual stepped care package offering increasingly intensive digital health interventions that comprehensively address sexual health and HIV prevention needs of adolescent boys vulnerable to HIV. Its multi-tiered application, integrated with REDCap, enables seamless transitions between interventions.

This gamified, mobile friendly platform features customizable quizzes, goal-setting activities, and a suite of interactive toolsincluding integrated participant forums using Discourse to allow researchers to create discussion topics and moderate content a HIV risk calculator, a dating app simulator, and locators for condoms, HIV/STI testing, and PrEP, to engage participants. Initially designed as a standalone platform, SMART has also been adapted for broader accessibility and usability on WordPress and Canvas.
